Mrs. Jacqueline daCosta has held many senior positions in the Government of Jamaica, including Consultant Coordinator Special Programmes and Projects in the Cabinet Office, and Technical Advisor to a number of Cabinet Sub-Committees and to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Land and Environment. Her qualifications and expertise include policy formulation and implementation, spatial data infrastructure policy, land policy, administration and management, socio-economic and marketing research, sustainability, regional development planning, and environmental matters.
Mrs. daCosta has received numerous awards at international, regional and national levels. These include the UN Habitat scroll of Honour Award, for her outstanding contribution to the development of shelter strategies. She has also been recognized for her service to conservation of Jamaica’s natural heritage, her contributions to the construction sector, public sector and to GIS development, planning, development, land policy, administration and management in Jamaica and the Caribbean.
