Professor Trevor Munroe

Professor Trevor Munroe is one of the Caribbean’s leading public scholars, combining excellence in academic work with exemplary civic engagement and outstanding public service in Jamaica, the Caribbean and internationally. With vast experience in public service and matters of democratic governance, he is a Professor of Government and Politics and a consultant to the Centre for Leadership and Governance at the University of the West Indies.

Professor Munroe served as Senator in Jamaica’s parliament from 1998 to 2007. He has held Directorships at United Way of Jamaica and the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions, was an Executive Member of the Private Sector Think Tank and Member of the Caribbean Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee, Executive Committee and National Executive Council of the Peoples National Party and Member of the Steering Committee of Legislative Leaders of the Americas.

He has also lent his expertise to global institutions including The World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, The Carter Centre, USAID, Transparency International and the Organization of American States.
